What We Believe

Our Faith

We worship one God in three persons: the Father who has created us, the Son who has redeemed us from all sin, and the Holy Spirit who creates and sustains faith within us by Word and Sacrament.

All of creation suffers from the deadly consequences of sin, and we humans are unable to heal our relationship with God on our own.

Jesus Christ is the divine Son of God, who suffered death for our sin and rose from the grave for our justification.

We are saved solely by God's rich and lavish grace, through faith in Jesus and the promises of His Gospel. For Jesus' sake we receive the forgiveness of sin, life in His Kingdom, and salvation eternal.

The Holy Spirit uses Word and Sacrament to create and sustain faith in the hearts of His people, enabling us to live before God in righteousness and purity.

We are called to be Christ's disciples, serving Him and His Church in all that we say and do. We're also called to serve our neighbor in our daily lives and help to bring more and more people into His family of faith.

The Holy Bible is the infallible and inerrant Word of God, and is the source and norm of all Christian doctrine.

Holy Baptism

God comes to us through the Water and Word of Holy Baptism in order to unite us to Christ Jesus and claim us as His own. In Baptism, we receive the Holy Spirit as we die to sin and rise again in faith. If you would like to learn more about Holy Baptism for yourself or your child, please speak with a pastor. 

Holy Communion

Christ Jesus invites baptized members of His Church to the Sacrament of Holy Communion in order to receive the forgiveness, life, and salvation accomplished on the cross. As Lutherans, we believe that His Body and Blood are truly present in the bread and wine of the communion meal. If you have questions about the Sacrament or have not communed with us before, please speak with a pastor before the service.

The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) has over 2.5 million members in America and conducts missions in nearly 90 foreign countries. Lake Norman Lutheran Church is a part of the Charlotte area circuit and the Southeastern District of the LCMS.
